COLLECTIONS:

What does “full day coverage” mean?

Your collection dictates how many hours I will spend with you throughout the day. These are fluid and can include hours dress shopping, getting ready prior to the ceremony, ceremony, private sessions or reception. These hours will all add up to time allotted in your chosen collection. Additional hours are available for an hourly rate.

Wedding day coverage is 8 hours.

Full day coverage is 12 hours.

Event Coverage is 20 hours.

What is your payment schedule like?

Your non-refundable retainer of $1,000 is due when you sign me as your photographer. Your final payment plus taxes is due one week before your wedding day. Payment plans are available upon request.

Prairie Orchid Photography and Jason Poturica:

How do you describe your style?

I have a distinct and vibrant fine art style of photography. Some have described it as romantic, unique and whimsical. I use all of these elements for conveying the personalities of the couples I work with and their unique story of love. My second shooter is mainly concerned with capturing a more journalistic style of photography that is more focused on candid moments.

Is Prairie Orchid your full time occupation?

No, Prairie Orchid is my passion and what I love to do. It is closely related with my life as a professional photographer and artist. Any time that I find free is spent working for the ADD Centre of Winnipeg. I find a great amount of joy working with children and young adults with learning disabilities.

What sets your photography apart?

Great photography is part talent, part technique, part passion – and part communication.  As an photographic artist my work has been featured in many galleries throughout Canada in solo and group exhibitions, such as the Winnipeg Art Gallery. I bring my fine art background to everything I do, including ensuring your wedding day is picture perfect.

YOUR WEDDING:

Can I order professional prints from you?

Yes, I only use the highest quality printers, album makers and canvas stretchers. These are the same third party associates that I trust with my fine art photography.

Can we provide a list of photos we want taken at the wedding?

Of course! It is my job to ensure that your wedding photos are as unique as you are. If you have a specific location that is meaningful to you I will work to make sure it is included in the final shot list. I also allow for you to meet with me twice and have unlimited email communication so I can get to know you on a personal level.

How many photos will we get?

At the silver level you are guaranteed at least 350 professionally edited and toned, print ready photographs. At the gold level at least 400, and at platinum depending on hours of coverage normally over 600.

How do you deal with poor weather on our wedding day?

We always book a backup indoor location in case of poor weather. My equipment is also very durable and is able to handle exposure to the elements if need be.

How do we view our photos after the wedding?

A few weeks after your wedding you will be able to view highlights from your wedding online. 4 weeks after your wedding you will receive archival 4” x 6” prints of all selected photos, along with your photographs on a flash drive. The files are formatted at 8x12” full print quality so you can print them at a number of recommended vendors. We will then go over any album and gallery wrap decisions and get those orders placed. Albums and wraps will be ready in 4-10 weeks after ordering.

YOUR ENGAGEMENT:

Why should we choose you for our engagement session?

An engagement session is the perfect chance for me to get to know you and your story. During your engagement session I take every opportunity to learn from you as well as teach you tips and tricks that will help you during our wedding session. Above all else, an engagement shoot is fun! It’s lets you be free to express your personalities and gets everyone excited for your wedding!

Do we choose a location?

Remember the most important part of the engagement session is you! Locations that hold a special place in your heart and clothing that is comfortable and makes you feel like yourself always yields the best results! In our engagement consultation I will also suggest additional locations or styles that I feel will compliment you best.
